Launch of cooperation on Macroeconomic Modelling, German expert in MEDT Event Date: 04.09.2017

Fact-finding mission of Mr. Andrej Drygalla, expert in empirical research on topics in monetary and fiscal policy analyses etc, Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Germany, will take place on 4.09-06.09 in Kyiv.

Main objective of his assignment will be: consulting support of the Ministry of Economy Department of Strategic Planning and Macroeconomic Analysis regarding nowcasting and short-term forecasting models usage experience in other countries. Received knowledge and experience should be used by the MEDT in their analysis and forecasting of main macroeconomic variables.

During the fact-finding mission the expert will meet with respective representatives of the MEDT, Ministry of Finance, NBU, State Statistics Service to gather knowledge on existing software, models, data, needs and challenges. This will allow him to prepare a comprehensive 5-day practical training course for the MEDT for November 2017 according to the project aims.
